Dunlavin GAA Club Notes

Our Intermediate team had a good work out Sunday morning vs Barrowhouse in a challenge match, high winds made for a low scoring game with the barrow house team edging the win by a couple of points. Next up for the lads is the Ciaran Jones Weekend in Kilbride on the May bank holiday, details below,

Our Junior team defeated Donard by 1.10 to 5 points on Thursday evening in Donard, we had a very good turn out of players on the night and hoping for the same when we play Valleymount this Thursday.Anyone wishing to play a bit of Junior football is more than welcome to come to the Field on Tuesday and Friday evenings for training.

Our young hurlers got off to a great start with their Go Games blitz in Hollywood on Friday evening.  We played Blessington, Stratford and Hollywood. Their was some great skill on display and all players had an enjoyable evening.

Hurling training will continue on Monday evening at 6.30pm in the pitch. Our Nursery and U8 football players will continue training at 7pm on Monday evenings and U10 training will be Friday evenings at 6.30pm.
 
Operation Transformation has hit Dunlavin. An information and sign up evening will take place on Thursday next in the clubhouse between 7 and 8pm. There will be an exercise class, meal plans, exercise get togethers during the week and an optional weigh in. Contact otdunlavin@gmail.ie or Aisling, Linda, Lynsey, Margaret or Jacinta for more information – come along and join us and get a buzz going around the village!

Date for your Diary!!!!!!On Saturday 5th of May 2012 in Kilbride GAA Pitch at 4pm, a combined team of Kilbride/Dunlavin will play Clondalkin RFC in a compromised rules game for the Ciaran Jones Perpetual Rugby/Compromised Rules Trophy, at 6pm a combined team of Kilbride/Dunlavin will play Blessington’s senior team in the Ciaran Jones Perpetual Gaelic Football Trophy. and then all back to Mooney’s afterwards this is a weekend not to be missed!

The Gaa club are running a fun field day for all on the Dunlavin Green in Tandem with Dunlavin arts festival weekend, more details to follow for what should be a very exciting and wacky event! With fun and craic for all age groups!

Our Golf Classic in Rathsallagh will be taking place this year on the June Bank Holiday weekend anyone wishing to enter a team please contact any committee member!

Our club Lotto was not won, it is now a whopping €5800!!  So please buy a ticket for €2.00 and support the future running of our club.

Well done to the Wicklow senior footballers on their amazing achievement on Saturday evening in Croke Park winning the Division 4 Title, all roads lead to Carlow now where they will face Meath in 1st round of Championship best of luck to Harry and the lads , well done from Dunlavin Gaa Club.
