Kilcoole GAA Club Notes

U8 Hurling: Our training continues each Wednesday evening in the GAA field. It is from 6pm until 6.50 pm for the development squad and from 7pm until 8 pm for the Go Games squad. Eamonn’s nursery squad are on Wednesdays also, from 6.30 until 7.15.

Don Hyland School of Hurling: Well done to the Kilcoole U12 hurlers who travelled to Aughrim on Saturday last for the first of this years Don Hyland School’s of hurling.

U16 Football:

The u16 footballers had a great win over Coolkenno last Monday week over in the field. We built up a big lead in the first half and continued our good progress in the second half and we ended the game as comfortable winners. It was a great team effort with all sixteen players involved playing their part. It was also encouraging to have seven different scorers.Our team and scorers were: Josh Murray, Barry Diskin,Owen O Brien (Captain), Shane Evans, Jake Ryan, Bradley Delaney Byrne, Warren Merriman, Cormac Byrne0-2,Lee Dutton 2-02, Jamie Murray 1-03, Dylan Ford 1-01, Jordan Greene, Sean O Gara 0-1, CJ Corcoran 2-01, Jack Healy(second half sub) and Shane McMullen2-0. Well done to mentor and coach Roy and Shay and players.

 

Junior B Football:

The Junior B team entertained Ashford at home last Thursday. It was good to see a panel of 19 players available for the game. It was an evenly contested game. Ashford had pulled a few points clear but our lads never gave up the cause. In the end we were beaten by 3 points on a score line of Ashford 3-07 to Kilcoole 2-07. Our scorers were Stephen “Coco” Coughlan 1-05, Patrick “Pecker” Woods 1-0, Darren “Dinky” Dunne 0-1 and Dean Healy 0-1. The lads are at home tomorrow night, so come on over a give the lads a bit of support

 

Intermediate Football:

Last Tuesday week, the Intermediate footballers travelled to Dunbarr Park to play St. Patrick’s. We started well and built up a few points lead and lead by 6 points at half time , 1-06 to 3 points. St. Patrick’s started the second half well and reduced the score. Ronan Keddy scored our second goal just at the right time. Although Pat’s did respond with a goal of their own, Kilcoole ended up winners by 5 points on a score line of Kilcoole 2-09 to St. Patrick’s 1-07. It was a good all round team performance. Our scorers were Dara Keddy 0-2, Matty Kennedy 1-0, Ronan Keddy 1-02, and Danny Kavanagh 0-5. Well done lads.

County Development Draw: Tickets are now available for the development draw. A part of the price of each ticket is given back to the club, so please support the draw this year. Price is 50 Euro and there are three, monthly draws. Contact a committee member if you need tickets.

Cúl Camp: The Kellogg’s Cúl camp for Kilcoole is from 23rd July to the 27th. It will cover football, hurling and camogie. The cost is 55 Euro for the first child, 45 for the second and 40 for a third or fourth child. A discount for 5 Euro of the booking price can be found on participating packs of Kellogg’s Cornflakes or Rice Krispies. Each child will receive a free Cúl camp kit and kit bag. Booking can be made online at www.kelloggsculcamp.gaa.ie.

Juvenile Training Times:

                              Training is in the GAA field. Please arrive on time for training and please collect players promptly from training.

U6 Academy: Wednesday 16th from 6:30pm to 7:15pm.

U8 Hurling: Wednesday 6.00pm to 6.50pm for the younger members and from 7.00pm to 8.00pm for our more experienced players.

U-8 Football: Thursday 6:15 pm to 7:15 pm.

U10 Hurling: Thursday 6:45pm to 8pm.

U10 Football: Wednesday 4:45pm.

U12 Football: Wednesday 5pm-6:15pm

U12 Hurling: Thursday 6:45pm to 8pm.

U14 Hurling: Saturday 11am to 12:15pm. U12s can also participate in this session.
