Dunlavin GAA Club Notes
Our First team were due to play in Ciaran Jones Weekend in Kilbride which is now being rescheduled due to poor weather conditions at the weekend, We have a challenge match versus Kiltegan on Tuesday evening in the Field at 7.15pm.
Our junior team defeated Valleymount at home on Thursday last by 3.15 to 1.4 , we had a very good turn out once more and Anyone wishing to play a bit of Junior football is more than welcome to come to the Field on Tuesday and Friday evenings for some training,
The Juniors travel to Lacken on Thursday evening in Division 4 with the throw in at 7.15pm.
Congratulations to St Kevins C.C Dunlavin on defeating Carnew in the final of the County Wicklow Senior Schools` A` Championship last Friday, this was a thrilling encounter and the level of football played on the day was excellent, once again Dunlavins never say die attitude prevailed and they came back from 4 points down with 5 minutes to go to defeat a very good Carnew team by 2 points!. Well done lads.
“Operation Transfermation Hits Dunlavin!! ”An unbelievable 72 people have signed up for Operation Transformation – we are overwhlemed with the fantatstic response and look forward to a great eight weeks. Rumour has it the council are considering a ring road for Dunlavin with the numbers out walking the roads at the moment! It’s not too late to join us – ask any member of the committee or come along to the Imaal Hall next Monday night at 8.30pm to sign up for our exercise class. Well done to Lyle Hood who had fantastic success on the running track lately – Lyle has added a leinster title to his collection.
Our U8 and U10 footballers will be in action in the pitch on Saturday morning as we host the Go Games blitz. Well done to our U12 team who are putting in great performances in their last two games to achieve two comprehensive victories – well done to all and may it continue!
Dunlavin Gaa club are running a fun field day for all on the Dunlavin Green in Tandem with Dunlavin arts festival weekend, more details to follow for what should be a very exciting and wacky event! With fun and craic for all age groups!
