Kilmacanogue GAA Club Notes
There were mixed fortunes for our adult teams this week.
On Thursday evening our Junior B team finally got their campaign underway. Having had their two previous proposed matches called off, they travelled down to Kilcoole. And it looked like they were about to face a third week on the trot without a match when no referee showed up but an official eventually arrived. Perhaps it was an omen of what was to come though as our lads slumped to a 1-9 to 1-2 defeat. This side is at a very early stage though and better things are expected of them.
Thankfully it proved to be a very different outcome for the Junior A side when they came up against Shillelagh on Sunday morning. An under strength Shillelagh side crashed to a 21 point defeat against our lads. The final score was 3-15 to 0-3 but it is just another chapter in what will be a long adventure for us.
Both sides will not be in action again this week though. On Thursday the Junior B’s host Ashford at 7.15pm and we hope to see a strong crowd present to support the lads.
The Junior A side have to wait until Sunday week (May 20) for their next taste of action when they take on Coolkenno.
