Kiltegan Club Notes
Our junior hurling team recorded another good win in the junior championship when they beat Carnew Emmets in Carnew on Wednesday night in a score line of 1-5 to 0-6 to 0-2 at half time we put in a great second half performance to hold the opposition scoreless in the second half and went on to win the game by a two point margin. Ronan Byrne’s goal set us up for victory, he also scored 2pts, and our other scores came from Conor Doyle, John O’Keefe and Paddy Carney. We play Western Gales in our next match in Kiltegan on Wednesday evening 7.15pm.
Our junior football team had a big win over Arklow Geraldines/Ballymoney team in the South Division 4 Football League in Kiltegan on Thursday evening, the final score; 6-20 to 1-6. We were always in control of this game from the throw-in and were in no danger of losing the game with no fewer than 10 players contributing to the scoring, which where; PJ Daly 1-3, James Doyle 1-3, Johnny Keogh 2-0, Padraig Keogh 1-3, Darren Nolan 1-2, Darren Hobson, 0-5, Ray Kelly, Rickey Donegan, Mark Pierce & Ronan Byrne 1pt each. We play Annacurra in Annacurra next Thursday at 7.30pm.
Well done to our county hurling team on a great win over Meath in the Christy Ring Cup Semi-final in Arklow on Saturday , they play London in Down in the final in Croke Park on Saturday 9th June. Well done to Jeffery and Eoin our representatives on the team.
No luck for our County Football Team in the first round of the Leinster Football Championship against Meath in Carlow on Sunday, we now have to wait for the qualifiers, but in the meantime, there will be championship fixtures for our club in the next couple of weeks.
Family Fun Day
Come along and bring all the family on Sunday 3rd June 2012 from 3 – 6 pm to Kiltegan GAA Grounds in aid of Relay for Life (Irish Cancer Society), fun to be had for everyone young and not so young, Kiltegan 1986 Football Champions V Kiltegan 2008 Football Champions, cake stall, face painting, races for all ages, and lots, lots more on the day. Entrance €5 per adult & Kids FREE. Followed by Music & Entertainment in Katie Lowes that night from 9.00pm.
