Kiltegan Club Notes

By on June 11, 2012

A quite week on the playing field for our club as we prepare for the first round of the Senior Football Championship against Rathnew in Aughrim on Saturday where we will be hoping to have all players available for this first round, we wish them all the best of luck.  No luck for our players on the county hurling team, Jeffery and Eoin, who were defeated by London in the Christy Ring Cup Final in Croke Park on Saturday.

No luck either for our supporters of the County Development Drew held in Aughrim on Friday night, congratulations to Ned Byrne, Grangecon on winning €10,000 first prize.

Siobhan Doyle would like to thank all who supported the Cabaret Show in Katie Lowe’s and the field events in the GAA Field on Sunday last for Relay for Life Cancer Research.  She would like to that everyone who worked and donated cakes and prizes for the event, the highlight of the day was a football match, between the Kiltegan 86 winning championship and the 2008 team, some great football was played by the 86 team, Mattie Gartland had a star game in goal stopping many goal shots from county stars, Rory Finn and Jacko Dalton, Sean Keogh at full forward showed his talent scoring goals and points, overall a very entertaining game in spite of the poor weather conditions, thanks to all who played and referee Damien Byrne.

Our Juvenile Club had to cancel their Go Games Hurling Blitz to be held in Kiltegan on Friday evening due to the bad weather, which left a lot of disappointed players.

Lotto Draw Results:  Winning Numbers: 05 – 14 – 28 – 29.  No Jackpot Winner. Next week’s Jackpot €10,600.  Match 3 Winners: Noel Farrell and Marian Burke.  Next Draw takes place in Junior’s on Monday night at 10pm.

Kiltegan Camogie.

Our Camogie Club hosted the County Go Games Blitz in Kiltegan GAA Field on Saturday for under 8’s and under 10’s girls.  Over 100 girls played Camogie in the games organised in both under 8’s & 10’s, the clubs who took part were; Donard, Knockananna, Carnew, Annacurra, Aughrim and Kiltegan.  The club would like to thank all the parents who helped in many ways by making sandwiches, cakes, buns and serving teas and refreshments to the large crowd who attended, also thanks to the Referees, Eoin, Andrea, Fiona and Theresa and thanks to our main organiser Trish Keogh who believes the Child of Prague played a vital part for the good weather we had on Saturday.

Camogie training form under 8’s to under 14’s every Wednesday night 6.30pm in the GAA field.
