The Kibride Gaa Club Lotto Jackpot will be held tonight (Bank-Holiday Monday) in Mooney’s at 10.30pm as the jackpot rises to the sum of €9,600.

The Ladies team played Blessington on Wednesday night in Blessington and came out convincing winners at the end of the winner takes all local derby. First score of the match went to the home side but once the Kilbride girls found their shooting boots they pulled ahead and remained so for the remainder of the match. In the second half Blessington were piling the pressure on the Kilbride defence and looked liked they could have pulled themselves back into the match. However, the back lines from Kilbride held firm and managed maintain the lead and secure the win. The final score on the night was Blessington 2-08 to Kilbride’s 6-08 and scorers for Kilbride on the day were Niamh Connolly 3-01, Claire Walsh 1-01, Ríonach Craul 1-01, Geraldine Conway 1-03 and Jean Duffy 0-02. Kilbride now face the winners of the other group, Coolkenno, this Saturday 11th August @ 6.30 pm in the semi-final. Venue is still TBC but it will be in either Arklow or Baltinglass. Please get out to support the girls.

The Blessington match was Claire Walsh’s last match for Kilbride before she heads off to America to commence her soccer scholarship. Kilbride Gaa would congratulate Claire on her fantastic achievement and wish her the very best of luck in America and look forward to when she’s back in the blue and white again.

The Men’s team regroup for their next championship fixture this Friday when they take on Rathnew in Roundwood @ 7.30pm. This is a must win match for the lads so please make sure to get out to Roundwood in support of them.
