Wicklow banished memories of Wexford Park to win an eventful Championship Match in O’Moore park this afternoon.
All the talk in the build up was about Thomas Walsh, but in the end it came down to experience and clinical finishing in a game that saw Wicklow play 15 minutes of the second half down to 14 men after Nicky Mernagh recieved two yellows and saw the line.
Carlow’s two midfielders Murphy and Walsh would see red before full time as Paul Earls, JP Dalton and Leighton Glynn raised green flags for the Garden County.
However the win was marred with a serious injury to the ever impressive Padge McWalter who could be out for some time.
Wicklow now go on to face Westmeath in the Quarter Finals.
