Christy Ring: Wicklow 3-16 Derry 2-11
Wicklow hurlers blew Derry away in part three of their personal battle as they progressed to the semi final of the Christy Ring Hurling Championship in Aughrim this afternoon. The Garden County put in a sensational first half performance to lead by 16 points at half time after a wind assisted score fest where Andy O’Brien was again amongst the goals.
Wicklow Reach The Promised Land
Wicklow hurling came of age today in a classic National League Final where guts, determination, skill and passion won through and won Casey O’Brien’s hero’s promotion to Division 2 of the National Hurling League where the big boy’s await. Two Andy O’Brien goals and a man of the match performance from Enan Glynn were enough to see off a spirited Derry and spark wild scenes of celebration in Pearse Park this afternoon.
MFC: Wicklow 1-9 Offaly 3-7
Wicklow will ponder what could have been after a spirited fight back in the second half fell short this afternoon against an Offaly side they dominated after the break. Alan O’Brien reports from Aughrim.
Match Report: Wicklow 1-17 Clare 0-20
Wicklow escaped a second defeat of the season with a last gasp Leighton Glynn goal to deny a classy and spirited Clare what would have been a much deserved win in Aughrim. Promotion was all but gone anyway as word filtered in from Longford that Carlow trailed by 1-13 to 0-5 at half time but the performance yesterday leaves much to ponder as Championship season approaches.
Double Header This Sunday
Aughrim will now host a double header this Sunday with the Leinster Division 2 Club Under 16 Football Final between St Nicholas (Wicklow) & Killary Emmets (Meath) acting as a curtain raiser to Wicklows vital clash with Clare.

The Eire Og venue in north Wicklow lived up to the tag of the sunny south east as the sun yet again shone on Wicklows efforts in their latest venture in Division 3 of the Bord Gais Energia National Football League.
Wicklow 2-16 Roscommon 3-14
Wicklow hearts were broken today as the blue and gold of Roscommon celebrated in the Aughrim sunshine after coming out on top by a single point in the team’s top of the table clash. The Rossies will know they were in a game after a spirited and brave performance by Wicklow.
